ENVIRONMENTAL PROGRAMS
Environmental Responsibility
Tube City IMS installs, modifies and operates its facilities to comply with applicable environmental regulations. By adhering to the Tube City IMS policies on environmental
criteria, training and auditing procedures, Tube City IMS operations achieve compliance with applicable environmental laws and regulations. The site will be assisted
with these environmental compliance programs by Tube City IMS corporate staffs that have experience with regulators and steel mills throughout the world.
Tube City IMS will secure all necessary permits to install and operate emission sources under its control. All solid and oily wastes and hazardous material are managed in
a manner that complies with applicable solid and hazardous waste statutes.
Hazardous Materials
There will be no underground storage tanks at Tube City IMS. All above ground petroleum product storage tanks have secondary containment. All petroleum wastes are
disposed in compliance with state and federal requirements. Tube City IMS has a current Spill Prevention, Control and Countermeasure (SPCC) Plan, which addresses the
storage of petroleum products and used oil. A major focus of the plan is the prevention of spills and leaks as opposed to "after-the-fact" clean up. It focuses
on training, and it specifies measures, which should be taken to contain, protect, secure and respond if there is a leak.
