ALLOY BLENDING SYSTEM (ABS)
The Alloy Blending System (ABS) is a comprehensive software package that allows our customers to create value within their melting operations. ABS is a fully integrated, linear programming based system that includes:
- Least Cost Charge Design
- Least Cost Alloy Additions
- Dynamic Formula Processor
- Inventory Control
- Scrap Control
- Chemistry Routing
- Month to Date Consumables
- Purchase Evaluation
- Material Forecasting
- Management Reporting
ABS is extremely flexible and can be tailored to match the needs of the end user. Tube City IMS recognizes that a "one size fits all" solution is not feasible for our customers, and we will work closely with our end users to ensure that ABS is configured for maximum efficiency. ABS is currently in use at over 160 customer sites from diverse metal industries including: Primary and Secondary Aluminum shops, Nickel/Cobalt based Superalloy shops, Stainless Steel shops, Aluminum Smelting shops, Foundries and Scrap Blending shops.
The ABS modules may be licensed separately or as a complete package. Customer modifications, if needed, are available on either a fixed-price or time and material basis. The software operates on Intel hardware platforms utilizing Windows (95, 98, 2000, NT, XP, Vista or Version 7). ABS requires a Pentium class CPU or greater with a minimum of 32MB RAM and 50MB of available disk storage.
Tube City IMS provides complete documentation and training of the ABS software. Free upgrades and support are provided for the first 60 days after installation. An optional plan for on-going software maintenance and support is also available.
